Egypt - Lynx GIS Adviser

Nile Delta - Western Desert - Gulf of Suez - Sinai - Upper Egypt - Red Sea

The Lynx/Fairway GIS Exploration Adviser for Egypt comprises a Report, GIS and Exploration Database. This evaulates the hydrocarbon exploration potential of the entire country, including a wealth of information on wells, production, seismic and potential field data, compiled and linked to the GIS.

This study brings together the complementary skills of Fairway Exploration - geological, geophysical and potential field data interpretation - and Lynx Information Systems - seismic and petrophysical processing and GIS development. Both companies have extensive experience of the exploration environment in Egypt and analogous areas.

1/12 - During the last decade the success
ratio in Egypt has improved considerably. Prolific reservoirs and mature source rocks associated
with a wide variety of trapping mechanisms have been identified and many new fields brought on line.

2/12 - The results of this recent
exploration and production activity have provided a wealth of new geological, geophysical and
geochemical data, which have been synthesized and interpreted to form this report.

3/12 - This Egypt Adviser includes
a wide range of regional map layers, including Wells, Concessions, Fields, Geology, Seismic locations, Gravmag,
Culture, Bathymetry.

4/12 - The Well Information Database includes
basic well header information for over 5600 well locations, and detailed information including stratigraphy,
hydrocarbon shows, test results, reservoir properties, geochemistry, formation tops, cross-sections
and digital log curves for over 1200 wells.

5/12 - The Fields Database provides a
systematic inventory of technical data for each producing field and major discovery, containing
information on interests, structural style, reservoir parameters, reserve estimates, hydrocarbon
type and production characteristics. Fields are linked to cross-sections, structure maps, seismic
and well data.

6/12 - Source rock geochemistry can be queried
and used to display hydrocarbon source rock facies distribution, quality and maturity.

7/12 - Western Desert - Regional
Structure Maps. A series of regional structure maps, isopachs for key horizons and hydrocarbon play maps
originally mapped at 1:250,000 using well information, seismic and potential field data, provides a structural
framework for each basin.

8/12 - Nile Delta - Regional Isopachs
for key horizons. Maps in each area show the distribution of producing and potential reservoirs, source and
cap rocks, for a basin-by-basin analysis of the prospective sedimentary section.

9/12 - Gulf of Suez - Regional Structure
and Play Maps. A number of prospective hydrocarbon plays and leads are identified, and the hydrocarbon-bearing
potential for each of the producing trends and exploration plays is evaluated.

10/12 - A series of geoseismic cross-sections
are linked to the well and field databases. These can be displayed by age, lithology or depositional environment
to illustrate the tecto-sedimentary controls on the deposition of source, reservoir and seals in relation
to basin structure.

11/12 - Frontier Areas. The hydrocarbon potential
of Upper Egypt, Sinai and the Red Sea is evaluated, and exploration risk assessed.

12/12 - Paleogeographic maps and Lithostratigraphic
Columns produced from well correlation. New play fairway maps are included for each major producing region,
with Common Risk Segment (CRS) Maps for reservoir source and seal presence in the Western Desert, Nile Delta
and Gulf of Suez

An in-depth report of the 'Hydrocarbon Potential of Egypt' accompanies the GIS and Exploration Database. This report is fully illustrated with maps and charts over 800 pages, and is provided in fully searchable PDF format.

Licence blocks and concessions, and the well and field information databases are updated on a regular basis.
